New Toyota Highlander Performance/Power
The 2020 Highlander comes equipped with a 3.5-liter V6
engine that produces 295-horsepower, and comes paired with an
eight-speed automatic transmission. Even without the available hybrid
powertrain, this offers reasonable gas mileage for a mid-size SUV, and
can travel up to 21 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on highway. The Toyota
Highlander offers a relaxed and comfortable ride, with competent
handling and strong brakes. It comes standard with front-wheel-drive,
but all-wheel-drive is an option on all trims.

The Toyota Highlander seats seven or eight people,
depending on its configuration and is a three-row midsize SUV. It
features a comfortable and spacious cabin, with available captain's
chairs in the middle row of the Platinum, Limited, and XLE trims that
drop the seating capacity down to seven. Eight-way power-adjustable
driver's seat and cloth seats are standard.
The upper trims offer several seating upgrades, including
genuine leather or synthetic leather upholstery, ventilated and heated
front seats, as well as a leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel.
Toyota Highlander Hybrid Option
The Highlander offers a hybrid option on the LE through
the Platinum trim levels. It comes with a four-cylinder engine and a
pair of two electric motors that generate a combined 243-horsepower. The
Toyota Highlander Hybrid can travel up to 36 mpg in the city and 35 mpg
on the highway.
